Undergraduate Transfer from Syria and Egypt to Istanbul University (Second Application)

Regulation about the changes in the regulation related to transfers among license and associate degree programs, double majors, subbranches and credit transfers among institutions in Higher Education Institutes  has been published in official gazette on 21 September 2013, no 28772. And in the meeting of Higher Education Executive Board, procedures and principles  which should be prepared according to the added clause 2 of the regulation have been considered.

According to the declaration of the Council of Higher Education dated 11.10.2013, no 55535-7740, Turkish citizens, citizens of Syria and Egypt and foreign citizens in these countries who started education in license or associate degree programs before the education year of 2013 – 2014

  1. Can make undergraduate transfer if they have all necessary documents.
  2. Higher Education Institutions will assess these undergraduate transfer applications so that they don’t exceed 10% of the quota of related department in the education year.
  3. Those who don’t have the necessary documents for undergraduate transfer can take courses in Gaziantep, Kilis 7 Aralık, Harran (Şanlıurfa), Mustafa Kemal (Hatay), Osmaniye Korkut Ata, Çukurova, Mersin universities as special students.The students with necessary documents can make undergraduate transfers.

As a result of the evaluation of the undergraduate transfer applications from Syria and Egypt Universities to Istanbul University, the information regarding the second application for additional placement and registration procedures is given below.

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION

-A letter of application to related department about your request for undergraduate transfer.

-Copy of the pages showing your identity information and expiration date on your passeport  and its Turkish translation confirmed by notary or Turkish Foreign Representatives (or PRESENTATION CARDS given to syrian people without passeport and who are living in accommodation centers in Turkey because of the caos in Syria)   

-Document showing that he/she studied at university in Syria and Egypt and its Turkish tranlation confirmed by notary or Turkish Foreign Representatives.

-Transcript for all years showing the courses and degrees of the students in his/her Higher Education Institutions and its Turkish tranlation confirmed by notary or Turkish Foreign Representatives.

-Course contents of the student taken and confirmed by his/her university  and its Turkish tranlation confirmed by notary or Turkish Foreign Representatives.

-Students applying for programs necessitating compulsory foreign language prep school should succeed at the foreign language proficiency exam made by Istanbul University Foreign Languages Department or should have at least 60 degree over 100 in foreign language exams which have a in national and international validity. CLICK here to see equivalent exams.

DOCUMENT NECESSARY FOR REGISTRATION

*Original High School Diploma and its Turkish translation confirmed by notary or Turkish Foreign Representatives

*Original of certificate of equivalence taken from Turkish Ministray of Education, Provincial Directorate of National Education   or Turkish Foreign Representatives.

*Eight photos (size: 4,5 x 6,0 cm). Photos should be taken from the front and within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance

*Declaration of Permanent Address (CLICK here).

*If possible, Turkish proficiency document ,If not, at least B degree is a must in the Turkish exam on 03 February 2014 at 10.00 by Istanbul University Foreign Language Department.
